Health and Medical Benefits

The sensation of heat that some people experience is due to the increase flow of blood in the muscles of the foot. It stops after a few weeks. In some people, it may continue for longer. If it persists, consult your family doctor to check for any underlying issue.
MBTs dynamically changes impact through the foot, ensuring that your weight is evenly distributed across your foot from the moment your heel strikes the ground until your foot leaves the ground. Conventional shoes concentrate the impact in your heel and raise it across the foot, ending with the big toe leaving the ground, which causes a lot of pain for people with arthritis.
MBTs improve trunk alignment, supporting the spine and strengthening lower back muscles, and may aid sciatic pain recovery. Persistent pain warrants medical evaluation to rule out serious conditions.
MBTs reduce pressure on the heel and may be beneficial for problems like heel spurs, plantar fasciitis, tendonitis in the Achilles tendon and arthrosis. MBTs reduce the impact experienced at the knee.
MBTs may help plantar fasciitis as wearing MBTs reduces pressure on the arches of the feet. Introducing MBT gradually can help stretch the plantar fascia gently while protecting it and strengthening the muscles that support it.
Wearing MBTs may reduce impact through the knee. MBT stretches the foot and activates the quadriceps, helping in the treatment of knee pain.
Yes, MBTs activate the muscles of the foot and may help to strengthen the arch.
No you should not wear MBTs as they create a natural instability.

General Usage and Suitability

MBTs aim to help people lead a healthier life by increasing muscular activity, strengthening the principal muscles of the legs, feet, and back, and providing various individual benefits such as relief from joint pain or better gait.
MBT shoes are ideal for prolonged standing. The sole encourages subtle rocking movements, helping to engage back muscles and potentially alleviate strain on joints and the back.
It's not recommended to wear orthopaedic insoles with MBTs because they provide foot support without stimulating foot muscles. In some cases, customized orthopaedic insoles may be necessary and should be fitted by a specialist familiar with MBT technology.
Yes, you can. But you should feel safe and comfortable in your MBTs.
MBTs provide benefits before and after pregnancy. If you wore them pre-pregnancy, it's usually safe to continue, but if not, it's best to wait until after childbirth.
While MBT shoes are designed to promote muscle activation and improve posture during daily activities, they are not the best choice for intense workouts at the gym.
MBT should not be used for exercises with lateral or stop-and-go movements such as tennis, basketball, and aerobics.

Product Features and Technology

The name "MBT" originates from "Masai Barefoot Technology," drawing inspiration from the Masai people known for their upright posture and athletic physique.
MBT footwear features a patented sole construction with the Masai Sensor, providing comfort and natural instability to enhance lower body muscle activity, posture, and balance.
The slogan "the anti-shoe" signifies that MBT is the functional opposite of normal shoes. While normal shoes support and cushion in an unnatural way, MBT activates neglected muscles to support and hold the body.
Although there are no 100% vegan models, some models are made of 100% synthetic materials.
MBT's rounded sole design creates natural instability that engages muscles for balance and stability, mimicking walking on uneven terrain.
The MBT Sensor absorbs impact as the heel strikes the ground, introducing natural instability, increasing muscle activity, and reducing stress on joints.
Unlike conventional shoes, MBT's patented Masai Sensor and balancing area induce instability that prompts the body to naturally adjust, activating muscles that have been inactive.

Fitting and Comfort

For optimal performance, MBT shoes should have a snug fit at the instep, secure heel position, and room for toes to move freely. Proper fitting ensures the natural balance point over the pivot.
You will receive an introduction when you buy an MBT in the shop, where you will be shown how to walk and stand properly in MBTs. This is not possible with online purchases.
Experiencing slight muscle fatigue at the start is common as you are activating neglected muscles. The muscle soreness should diminish as you wear them more.

Product Care and Maintenance

Yes, you can use waterproof spray. You care for MBTs like any other shoe using appropriate products. However, avoid exposing them to harsh substances or liquids.
No, never! You may damage the MBT sensor.
To keep your MBT footwear in good condition you should: Use a damp cloth to clean them when they get dirty. Never wash them in the washing machine, as this may damage the Masai sensor. Avoid contact with oils, acids and corrosive liquids. If your MBTs get wet, dry them before putting them away or wearing them again.
Just like other shoes, the lifespan of your MBTs depends very much on how often and how hard you wear them.
